While most of my previous posts have been about how Gumnut’s core technology works, today I’m excited to write about some public-facing updates for Gumnut!
First of all, Gumnut has a new website, which incorporates everything I’ve learned over the past 9 months, as well as the design language that’s now used across all of Gumnut. Gumnut’s core is still the same agent-native intelligence layer for photos — but the value proposition for individuals, businesses, and developers is different, and that’s now clearly reflected in the new website.

Secondly, Gumnut now has an extensive resource for developers at docs.gumnut.ai. I started building out this site last year, but it’s now fairly comprehensive, with guides for authentication, REST APIs, native SDKs, MCP calls, and Immich integration, as well as an interactive API reference.

Finally, while Gumnut is still very much a work in progress, I opened up public sign-ups, so come try it out! You can think of this as a public alpha launch or Steam Early Access for Gumnut. Based on working in Fintech for over a decade, I know fraudsters love anything free, so I built out some reasonable initial controls around sign-ups and storage space. Unless you’re actively trying to abuse the service, you shouldn’t have a problem.
Special thanks
I have two big thank you this time around:
Marcus Gosling: for iterating with me on the Gumnut logo. We went through about a dozen iterations of symbol, shape, gradient, font, etc. before landing on the one I’m using now, which I’m super excited about. Thank you also for all of your feedback on visual design, which resulted in the design system I’m now using across Gumnut!
Allison Light: for working with me on Gumnut’s tone of voice and brand positioning, and especially for your reminders to focus on value, not functionality. Your feedback resulted in a lot of the new language on the website!
As always, feel to reach out if you’d like to chat. There’s even a contact form now.
